My name is Chris Richards, and I'm a graduate of film production from the University of Winchester; with a specialism in prop making/buying and set decoration.
I am currently seeking entry level positions, and industry placements in order to gain on-set experience in HETV and Film.
With a passion for accuracy and detail I have sourced contemporary and period props and set dressing for numerous short films and self-taught myself many of the key skills of construction, painting, ageing and weathering.
These I am constantly practising, alongside building my knowledge of prop houses and suppliers as well as the practical skills of modelmaking and graphic design.
I have experience with all facets of Adobe's Creative Cloud software, with particular ability in using Photoshop and Lightroom.
I also a keen artist in physical mediums such as acrylics, watercolours, sketching, and calligraphy.
As a keen photographer, I own Nikon DSLR, Pentax 35MM, and Super 8 cameras, and have experience in both analogue (including developing and print enlarging) and digital work.
Keen to develop and learn I am teaching myself hand drafting as well as Google Sketchup CAD, whilst continuing to expand my graphic prop making abilities.
With a long standing passion for history, including particular knowledge regarding the world wars and post-war periods. I am also able to provide historical advice, or bring a pre-existing understanding of a period's style to any Department Assistant's role.
I hold a full driving licence, and my own vehicle.
